ตอนนี้เฮียเค้ามี Blog ส่วนตัวแล้ว ชื่อ varietyofsound

ข่าวดีอีกอย่าง คือ เค้าปล่อย VST ตัวใหม่(ที่มีภาพมายั่วตั้งแต่ต้นปี) มาให้เล่นกันอีกแล้ว
ชื่อ epicVerb



เป็น digital room reverberation simulator ที่สามารถสร้างเสียงได้ทั้งแบบ small room ไปจนถึง large “epic” halls
ประกอบด้วย 2 reverberation modes, มี 6 stereo early reflection models

ใน archive มี 2 version ให้เลือกใช้ คือ sse1 และ sse2 compatible version (ดูที่ spec CPU)

พูดอย่างไม่เข้าข้างซักนิด :D ว่าเสียงดี และกิน CPU หนักเอาการ
แต่ไม่ต้องเชื่อผมนะ

แนะนำวิธีใช้งานเล็กน้อย
กด Ctrl + คลิ๊กซ้ายที่ปุ่มหรือ knob เป็นการคืนค่าไปที่ default
กด Shift + คลิ๊กซ้ายที่ knob เป็นการปรับแต่งอย่างละเอียด

ไม่ได้ล้อเล่นว่าด้านบนคือ Softsynth จริงๆ และที่เห็นคือขนาดจริงของ Softsynth ตัวนี้

สร้างขึ้นเพื่อการประกวด KVR Developer Challenge 2007 แถมได้รับรางวัลที่ 3

หน้าตาเป็นแบบนี้เพราะคนทำเค้าต้องการให้คุณสนุกสนานกับการลองเล่นโดยคาดเดาไม่ได้ว่าระบบของเสียงเป็นยังไง
แต่ภายใต้ GUI เรียบๆนี้เป็น Subtractive Synth ที่เสียงดีเข้าขั้น

สิ่งที่คุณจะทำได้นอกจากการเล่นกับ Presets ที่มีมาให้ถึง 128 เสียง ที่เครื่องหมาย อัศเจรีย์ (!) ตรงกลาง คือปุ่ม random ที่สามารถสุ่มสร้างเสียงให้คุณได้อีกมากมาย

อีก หนึ่ง Subtractive Synth แบบ monophonic ที่หากมองแค่หน้าตาก็งั้นๆ แถมยังมีแค่ 1 osc อีกต่างหาก แต่ถ้าลองแล้วจะพบว่าลูกเล่นของ synth ตัวนี้ไม่ธรรมดา

จุด เด่นสำหรับ REZ จัดเป็น freeware softsynth ที่มี arpeggiator ที่มีลูกเล่นหลากหลายกว่าปกติ และเมื่อมันถูกเอามารวมกับ 2 Delayline, Filter และ Phaser ที่สามารถเลือกปรับ sync กับ tempo ได้หลายค่าโน้ต ผลลัพท์ที่ได้จึงกลายเป็น groove และ phrasing ที่มี rhythmic ที่แตกต่าง

แถมให้อีกนิด คุณสามารถ random การปรับแต่งด้วยการกดที่โลโก้ UGO ที่มุมขวาล่างของ synth

เห็นหน้าตาธรรมดาแบบนี้ มีแค่ 1 OSC แบบนี้ก็อย่าได้ไปดูถูกเชียว แนะนำให้ลองเอามาเล่นดูจะพบความมหัศจรรย์ของเสียงแบบ Acid sound ที่เกิดจากการปรับ resonance มากๆ บวกกับ delay และ distortion

Delay เป็ด คืออะไร?
มันคือ Delay ที่หางเสียงของ Delay จะหายไป เมื่อมีสัญญาณเสียงเข้ามา มีประโยชน์เมื่อเราต้องการเสียง Delay ที่ไม่ทับเสียงต้นให้ฟังยาก

This is a delay whose output is compressed when there is a certain amount of signal present on its input. It allows to use a lot of delay on a voice without loosing too much intelligibility.
